The Swiss Travel System is a marketing company co-founded in 2011 by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), Switzerland Tourism and various public transport providers throughout the country.
It embraces the marketing activities of the SBB (incoming overseas) and its leisure travel subsidiary RailAway (incoming Europe). The Swiss Travel System's operations focus on international promotion of Swiss public transport and the on-going development and global distribution of a wide range of travel tickets and passes created exclusively for visitors to Switzerland. Our product line comprises notably the Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Travel pass Flexs and Swiss Transfer Ticket, which offer ample opportunity for individual and unlimited travel pleasure on Switzerland's 26,000-kilometre public transport network.
The Swiss Travel System is the leading marketing organization in Switzerland for incoming travel and tourism by public transport. Our mission is to promote recognition of Swiss public transport worldwide and expand product distribution, and in so doing to contribute to sustainable travel enhancement and increased revenue.
We work in close cooperation with Switzerland Tourism, notably through stronger involvement and integration in international marketing campaigns and media and study trips.
The SBB holds a 60% share in the Swiss Travel System. In addition, a 6% share each is held by Switzerland Tourism, the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB), the Rhaetian Railway (RhB), the Jungfrau Railways (JB), the BLS Lötschbergbahn (BLS) and the Montreux Berner Oberland Bahn (MOB).
